Venetian Fencing & Patio Installation

Here at Kent Landscaping, we have just completed this beautiful and practical fencing installation alongside a newly laid patio. Another clean, contemporary outdoor improvement project by the team here at Kent Landscaping.

We always work with our client to offer the correct combination of materials and help them select the right ones. Here we went for Venetian fence panel fixed between concrete posts with concrete gravel boards and a Venetian gate

We formed a semi-screened boundary that provides privacy while still allowing airflow and light. The Venetian slats are evenly spaced and are made from pressure-treated softwood, giving a pale natural finish which over time will weather to a silvery tone.

The patio is constructed from grey sandstone natural stone paving which we laid in a random but rectangular pattern with tight joints. We cleaned and sealed the surface to give it a slight sheen.

Techniques Used

• Venetian Fence - Timber slats fixed horizontally using stainless or galvanized screws and nails
• Concrete Posts - Set in concrete footings for stability
• Gravel Boards - Set at the base to protect timber from ground moisture
• Paving - Sub-base of compacted type1
• Mortar Bed - Made from sharp sand and cement
• Paving Slabs - Laid with consistent fall for drainage
• Joints - Pointed with wet mortar and a brush-in compound providing a durable, level surface
• Finishing Touches - Edge trimming and cleanup, sealed to enhance color and resist staining
